چکیده

Characterizing the elastic properties in deep-buried reservoirs beneath complex overburden structures remains challenging for seismic inversion. Elastic full-waveform inversion (FWI) is capable of quantitatively estimating subsurface with a reasonably high resolution. However, FWI using frequencies computationally expensive because fine discretization required to stabilize wavefield simulation. In addition, it obtain high-resolution results deep targets due and limited energy illumination target interest. To overcome these limitations, we propose target-oriented scheme by estimated data virtual survey deployed only above zone Specifically, have developed an redatuming approach retrieve solving iterative least-squares data-fitting problem. addition multicomponent recorded at acquisition surface, estimate model required. A synthetic example indicates that low-frequency band enables our reconstruct representing reflection response from zone. We then perform regularized redatumed reduced computational cost. numerical examples, Marmousi2 2D Volve field are used demonstrate feasibility practicality proposed method.

Semi-discrete Matrix-Free Formulation of 3D Elastic Full Waveform Inversion Modeling

Full waveform inversion (FWI) is an emerging subsurface imaging technique, used to locate oil and gas bodies. The key challenges that hinder its adoption by industry are both algorithmic and computational in nature, including storage, communication, and processing of large-scale system matrices, which impose cardinal impediments upon computational scalability. In this work we will present a com...

Two-dimensional frequency-domain visco-elastic full waveform inversion: Parallel algorithms, optimization and performance

Full waveform inversion (FWI) is an appealing seismic data-fitting procedure for the derivation of highresolution quantitative models of the subsurface at various scales. Full modelling and inversion of viscoelastic waves from multiple seismic sources allow for the recovering of different physical parameters, although they remain computationally challenging tasks. An efficient massively paralle...

Full-waveform inversion in a VTI elastic Earth: a parameterization and crosstalk study

Five parameters are needed to describe VTI anisotropy in 2-D elastic media. With conventional streamer data and considering that we have a kinematically accurate NMO velocity (vnmo) and η (or horizontal velocity, vh) obtained from tomographic methods, we first show that a parameterization given by vh, η and allows us to focus the inversion to update vh (for traveltime and amplitude fitting) and...

1-D elastic waveform inversion: A divide-and-conquer approach

Subsurface rock properties are manifested in seismic records as variations in traveltimes, amplitudes, and waveforms. It is commonly acknowledged that traveltimes are sensitive to the long wavelength part of the velocity, whereas amplitudes are sensitive to the short wavelength part of the velocity. The inherent sensitivity of seismic velocity at different wavelengths suggests an approach that ...
